I picked my seats up from the upholstry shop yesterday. I took a couple of pictures at his shop but more will come of them & the door panels & arm rests after the material has formed better. I'm gonna set them in the sun for awhile to get the wrinkles out but here they are now

Thank you. I think they will match the rest of the interior pretty good. I set them in the sun for awhile today & they really drew up alot. The new foam work is showing up alot better now. I'll post pictures when we get the seats in the cab along with the door panels & arm rests.

Thank you mcbassin! It seems like the hood is takin longer than the whole front end, lol. It wasn't in that bad of shape it's just one of the bigger pieces that has to be laser straight is what my buddy keeps tellin me. He has sprayed the base coat of light color on it & I'm goin up today to help him put it on & line everything up so he can mark where the pin stripes need to be. He said he's gonna sand the base coat with 2000 grit before he clears it. The spring Rod Runs are gonna be here in a couple of weeks & I've been tryin to get my '68 Impala road ready so I can drive it. I screwed up when I started posting this build as everything except the posi, some of the suspenion & paint, I had already done. I actually started on the truck in 2009, lol. Our goal now is to have it ready for the fall Grand Rod Runs but as you know, a project is never done. I'm gonna enjoy the truck for awhile after we get this stage finished & focus on my Impala but I already have future plans instore for "Ole Blue". Maybe an upgrade on the cam & heads, goin to 18.5 on the rear, a little stahl maybe, who knows, lol.

Re: Ole Blue's Makeover

It's been a few days but we've made some progress on my truck. The hood is now painted!!!! I understand a whole lot better now when you say the body work is what makes a paint job, lol. I never knew just how big & flat the hood was till now. My buddy spent 6 days on prep, painted the base, was not happy with it, sanded & did more prep, repainted the base & now he's pretty happy so he cleared it. We're plannin on puttin it on Tuesday & I think it looks awesome. On another note, I had to take my seats & door panels back to have them redone. There was a defect in the foam he used. After they had set for a couple days it was like the foam just flattened out. The upholstrey feller said he had never seen anything like it but said they had to be fixed. Here are the pictures of the hood. The first ones are of the base coats

Also, I had to pick up another left side hood hinge as mine was worn smack out. My buddy cleaned & primered it yesterday & was gonna paint it last night so it would be ready by Tuesday. Here are the rest of the hood pictures

Re: Ole Blue's Makeover

Man, yesterday was a big day, lol. We got alot more done than ever expected. When I first got to my buddys garage we laid out a plan of attack, lol. I would do the rest of the wiring, put the insulation & speakers & panels in & my buddy would do the new vent seals & kick panels. Then we both would do the carpet & get the hood on as he said it was dry enough. I think I got the better deal as the vent seals are sandwitched between the two panels with rivets so he had to drill the old rivets out to even get to the seals then rivet em back together. Long story short, we met our goal & then some. Anyway, here are the progress pictures

Thanks feller! I reccomend you get a pair if possible. They're really easy to install & you can customize them to fit your truck. Also, they are definately not flimsy, lol.
