Nearly perfect '68 - '72 short fleet bed and '68 part out

This bed is by far one of the straightest and cleanest beds I have ever seen. Bed was media blasted six years ago and primed, but never top coated, so it will need stripped again. Never undercoated, so it is smooth all over. Minor pinholes behind left wheel arch and back of bed floor, but that is it. Bed floor is extremely straight as are bed sides. No dings or dents around the tail light areas, but a couple small dings in the one bed side. All wheelhouses and gravel guards in place and spotless, as is the bulkhead. The gate has some rust issues, but is salvageable and pretty straight. This bed belongs on a show truck and will require little to no work. The repop bed kits are $2k - $3k, but we know the quality does not match OEM. I'm asking $1,750 firm and pick up is required. I have three passenger door shells that are rust free and one drivers door. I'm asking $150 each and will not ship. Two inner fenders are rust free; $75 each. The cab is rough, but will sell the cab title and frame (which is very clean and complete) for $600. I also have a Clifford six cylinder, 4bbl intake (with two weld repairs) with Clifford 2 bbl adapter, brand new six cylinder headers and a full dual exhaust system for $350. The '68 grille is rust free, but has one big ding. $75 for it. If you've got any questions, ask in this thread or call me at #440-590-2036. The first "I'll take it", gets these items per board rules. Thanks.

Are the inner fenders for the front? And is it a left and a right?

Avon, 44011. Just west of Cleveland. Could drive a couple hours to help someone out on the bed.

Re: Nearly perfect '68 - '72 short fleet bed and '68 part out

The driver door is almost rust free. This rust spot is about the size of a quarter and will probably be a small hole, once you take a grinder to it. The door bottom and corners are rust free. I just realized that it is a '72 door.

I don't have any hood or fender trim, but do have one of the pieces for the back of the cab. Will sell for $25 plus shipping.

I do have the core support, but it has a little rot underneath the battery tray area. but it's straight. I'd let it go for $50.

I'll try and get pics of the 6 cyl stuff tonight. Need to sell it all as a package or will keep.

Sorry I have not taken pics yet, but will post tomorrow. The price is $350 for everything, not sure where you got the $275 from?

I think that may have been his offer on the parts. Since you did state you are taking offers.
I am going to pass on the 6 cly parts myself, thank you for your time.

From your last post...didn't mean to offend, just making an offer.

I'm sorry, I did say reasonable offers. I need to stay pretty firm on the price for the 6 cyl stuff though, as I have a future project I could use the pieces on. Will get you pics tonight and we can discuss price. Thanks.

Re: Nearly perfect '68 - '72 short fleet bed and '68 part out

As stated the inside or each outer flange has been welded, but intake in good shape other than that. Headers are brand new, never installed, just dusty. The dual exhaust was installed, but clamps never tightened, except at mufflers. The pipes have surface rust, but are thick.

Re: Nearly perfect '68 - '72 short fleet bed and '68 part out

I have a few questions. What is the reason for the welds on the intake? Is the exhaust set up for the headers? What diameter are the pipes and what type of mufflers? Finally, is the exhaust for a SWB or LWB?

Thanks,
Mark

Re: Nearly perfect '68 - '72 short fleet bed and '68 part out

Not sure why the welds; I could not see cracks inside the runners. Not sure if the PO was beefing up a known week spot?? I bought the truck as a parts truck, but am guessing the exhaust fits the headers,as they are all from the same vehicle. Not sure of exhaust diameter, maybe 2" and the mufflers look like a Cherry Bomb style. Sorry I don't have more specifics.
