Tire/wheel sizes for 59 short narrow build

I need opinions on front tire and wheel sizes for my 59 short narrow truck. I have decided to use 17"x 9.5" on the back with 265/65-17 tires. Would a 16" wheel and 235/65 tire match up with the 17's on the back or should I stay with 17" front and rear. I'm trying to go with wheel sizes that I can buy tires for later on. Would the staggered wheel sizes look ok?

PM me with a email address and I will send you my tire/wheel spreadsheets that show width and diameter for most sizes.

Re: Tire/wheel sizes for 59 short narrow build

I used a 72 rear axle, 96 impala wheels, and the wheels are 10 inches wide.
You have 12 inches to stuff a tire in it, so I used 17X10 wheel, and 255/60/17 tire. I have 1/4 inch clearance on the fender, and 3/4 clearance on the bed. tires don't rub since I did the baseball bat trick on the fender. You have to use an aluminum bat though.

also you can use paint stir sticks and vice grips to tweak the fender lip for more clearance.
