Question speedo cable

how far should the cable go into the speedo head and the trans.? Stock speedo and sm420 trans. Is it possible to go into the trans. to far and pull out of the speedo head? 53 3100 Randy

I don't think it's possible for it to go "too far into" either end. It's going to stop when it bottoms out. The issue with a inner cable that is a tad too long is that it might bind up if it is bottomed out on both ends.
