Project lighten up front end

Without converting to a Mustang II type front end, what can I do to drop some weight. I plan on putting the battery in the bed this winter. I already got rid of power anything and the heater. The factory jack and the outer bumper brackets are history too. I also have 4" wide Centerline Convo Pros on the front too. Where in the suspension can I loose weight woithout spending a ton of money? This is on a '87 R10 with a bbc in it. Its. Race weight is 4010 with me in it and 60lbs of ballast in the right rear.Without the weight, 3950.

Thanks

Re: Project lighten up front end

If mostly race then the inner fenders can go. A glass hood drops a bunch. Loosing the carpet and padding and going to a rubber mat helps. Light weight seats. A glass bumper front and rear. Aluminum mirrors. 10 or 12 gallon fuel cell behind the rear end. Aluminum radiator. Spindles that use the 1" thick rotors. Exhaust that dumps at the back of the cab. No tailgate. No front sway bar. All this will get the weight down.
