Can anybody say, what is this truck color code, which I founded from internet? We want the same color in our truck. Is it light bronze metallic + almond or something else?

From the archives at the GM Heritage Center:

https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc...olet-Truck.pdf

My vote would be code 63 Light Bronze Metallic with code 59 Almond secondary (63U/59L).

RPO ZY4 paint scheme.

Thanks both of you! There in Finland our paint store didn't know c10 color code. Me and my brother are fixing up our Silverado 6,2d 1984. If you want to see picture of our truck, I can take a few picture for you. Sorry about my bad english and writing, but I hope you know what I mean.

Don't apologize; your English is better than some of the people I hang out with.

Re: Chevy Silverado 1983 color code

If somebody has same color than pictures truck and know what is your trucks color code, I would be thankful if you put in here a picture from your truck.

With pleasure I also would like to see pictures of lowering truck C10 about 2-2,5" front and 3-4" in rear.

This one is down about 2-3" in the front and 3" in the rear.

Tires are P235/75R15.

Thank you Keith! Your trucks looks so nice and just perfeckt! What kind of lowering you used in that truck? Spindle in front and hangers+shackles in rear, or?
By the way, I did´t know at you are professional GM engineering before I read your writing. Wau! It was a great script. It would be nice to talk more about, but I'm so bad and slow to write in English.

Re: Chevy Silverado 1983 color code

Thank you; I cut the coils in the front and relocated the spring hangers on the framerails on the rear. I've done about a dozen that way; this particular truck has been a daily driver for 30 years and 250,000 miles with no issues.

Re: Chevy Silverado 1983 color code

Thanks for your answer. I thought also modified rear hanger and shackles. Do you have short shocks or original (front and rear)? We have original rally wheels in front (8x15") and rear 10x15". We thought to buy tires to front 245/60-15" and rear 295/50-15". Otherwise the car will be completely original. It will be expensive, because the parts ordered from the USA, we have to pay freight and (all over 25€ purchase) we have to pay also customs and VAT.

By the way, I can´t open your links, I don´t know why?

No, stock shocks.

I don't know what's up with the links, either. They worked when I put them there (and in previous posts).

Here's a link to a different thread, same info. My detail is in post #23.

Thank you again! I watched that link and we also going to do the same thing about rear hangers.
Today we try to remove cab mounts bolts, but it´s seems to look like nightmare! Do you have good idea, how we can remove that bolts?

Hi again Keith!

Sorry to bother you again, but can you say the original color code for to the frame (black). What original color was a rear wheel arches? Front inner fender is black, but how about rear? Has under the bed+cab been same color as the rest of the car body? Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the cab bolts being a nightmare (due to corrosion)? Or removing the rivets on the spring hangers?

Regarding the rivets - some folks cut them with a chisel or drill them out. I usually grind the head down a bit and then knock them out.

Frame is black: not gloss, more of a semi gloss.

Front inner fender is black primer, because it was installed after the fender outer was painted.

Fender inners in the pickup box are the same as the primary body color. The box was built up in the cab shop and traveled through paint as an assembly.

Under the cab and under the pickup box are same as the primary body color, but not good coverage. More like overspray.

Thank you. Yes, I meant the cabin bolts. They are all rusted and went to the cross. The nut is inside the beam so that it can´t heat up. But I have to try to find a way to fix them.

Yes - you'll have to cut a little window in the sheet metal in order to access them.

Hello again Keith!
Sorry to bother again. Our frame is now painted a semi gloss. Do you have any original pictures(brochure) or original video preview of this truck (81-87)? Because we want the same color details as it was new. For example, all details of the engine room and the details of under the truck.
Best regards Ilkka
