Need help putting 2002 Z06 brakes on a 81 C-10

I want to use everything and anything I can off of this donor car... I would love to use the Z06 brake setup but I'm afraid of running up against a wall. And I know it will narrow my wheel choices with the oversized calibers and rotors. If any of you guys have successfully completed this swap please post some pics and give some info....PLEASE....PRETTY PLEASE...

Re: Need help putting 2002 Z06 brakes on a 81 C-10

Ive done the rear conversion, not the front... yet.

with the Corvette rotors, a stock ralley barley makes contact with the caliper bracket.... a 1/8 spacer would eliminate the problem. You could also swap to a corvette, non directional vein rotor but you would have to space the caliper accordingly.

It wont narrow your wheel choice, it will open it up ALOT. There are way more wheels for the 5x4.75 lug pattern then there is the 5x5 pattern. If I were you, I would contact Tobin at Kore3. He will be able to help you out with everything.

If you mean Z06 brakes like this, I can help as long as you want drop spindles, if you don't want drop spindles, I can still help but you'll have to send me your spindles to do it.

any c5 or c6 brake option will work as long you use the calipers and rotors from the same brake option. Our brackets will work with Mcgauphys spindles but they will need to be machined which we can do for you or we have already machined spindles in stock.

Dont think so.... rotors probably too big for a 15" rim. I'm going 22"/24" stagger Dont want it looking crazy with the small rotors

Not even close. I think they will require at least a 18" wheel.

Re: Need help putting 2002 Z06 brakes on a 81 C-10

Im sure they dont. The rears are only a 12" rotor and the factory steel wheel barley fits... actually touches the caliper mounting bracket a little. The only way the rears would fit no prob is if I redid the spacer for the caliper mount and use a camaro rotor... but no way on the fronts... maybe if you ran skinnies... but skinnies and squares isnt practical,

Rear calipers rotors ebrake plate assembly, a conversion kit and either machined original axles or new axles with a smaller flange o.d. and hub diameter of a camaro/corvette. I have one kit left for the rear.

Re: Need help putting 2002 Z06 brakes on a 81 C-10

Ok.. this is what I ended up with

1. Cadillac Eldorado rear caliper
2. Flebay rear disc conversion bracket kit
3. Had axles machined to fit the rear rotors
4. Flebay slot/drilled Cadillac rear rotor
5. OEM front caliper (new)
6. C10 slot/drilled front rotor
7. Rockauto front and rear brake hoses
8. All new custom bent brake lines

I ended up using the cadillac rear and OEM C10 front for ease of parts. It was much easier this way. I was getting frustrated trying to complete the other setup
