Re: Maybellene 52 gmc

after i got as far as i wanted {for now} to on the suspention i decided to fix the cab floor before my tubing became somthing else for the second time
mr 48chevy was kind enough to post the stock dementions for the front cab mounts.
So Idid some measuring and shimming to get the cab wehr it is supposed to be. then I made a simple frame out of scrap 1" square tubing that used holes that were already in the cab. At the bottom of each leg I welded a piece of angle iron witha hole and anut welded toit for adjustment. On the lower lege I tacked a short piece of .5 tube to the seam at the bottom of the toe board.

Re: Maybellene 52 gmc

now the floor from the seat riser to the toe board could be cut out.I marked and cut about a 1/2 inch in front of the seat riser and just inside the rocker panel flanges then stright down at the floor were it meets the toe board.
next I cut out the cab mounts out.
the floor at the rocker panelstuerned out to be a bit tougher than I thought at first, it turned out that the guy at the factory ran two to three spot welds together. So drilling wouldnt work.I ended up useing a 1/8" wide cutoff wheel
but first I used the 4" sander at a 45degree angle on the 90degree brake where the molding goes for the windlace.
