Planning on getting my gauge cluster fixed..

Thinking about removing and having my gauge cluster fixed on my 99 Sierra. They've been jumping all over the place for awhile now. Before I go spending time on the YouTube I'm wondering if any of you that have done this may have a good video already bookmarked you can point me to?

Re: Planning on getting my gauge cluster fixed..

I've seen folks on FB and Craigs list that do them, but in all 6 or 7 trucks I have had, I never had a gauge issue, so I guess I was lucky. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Re: Planning on getting my gauge cluster fixed..

reman should be common dealer item for $300-400ish, order by vin..

give them an odometer statement and you usually have 10-14 days to submit your core..

we replace late model clusters like this all the time, cheaper than tech's labor $ watching 4 hours of youtube for casual fixes

good luck!

Yeah, I'll go down this road. I found out that to remove and reinstall should be pretty easy.

Re: Planning on getting my gauge cluster fixed..

I used this guy, My cluster went out totally a few years ago. He was the only person who could retrieve my actual mileage and hours from a dead cluster.

Not cheap, it was $390.00 with shipping both ways and insurance. but I also added a trans temp gauge and the SS white cluster face cover.

Were your gauges flashing and jumping around a lot before they finally went out?

Jeff is top notch.
I gather from his videos he only really wants to do business in the midwest.
He put together a list of more local repair techs in this video description.

Re: Planning on getting my gauge cluster fixed..

I just bought a 2003 Suburban 2500 with a gauge cluster on its way out.

I was going to use this site;

https://issautomotive.com/products/0...QaAocOEALw_wcB

That said, fixmygauges.com looks to be similarly priced so I'll be talking to them as well before I buy anything.

EDIT: I'll be using Carl at fixmygauges.com - leaving the other link for another option in case others find this thread.
