Belltech drop spindle quality

I bought some Belltech 3100 drop spindles from Summit for my project. I have used Belltech years ago and was impressed with the quality in the past.
Not so much now. The castings are very rough and devoid of any part numbers or logos. Has anyone else seen anything like this ?. I emailed Btech and they said they can look different according to the foundry they came from. Said they would warrant them if they had failed.
Warranty wont help me if they break at 70 MPH.

Re: Belltech drop spindle quality

If you’re not happy with those, pick up a set of Early Classic Enterprise spindles. I bought a set for my truck and they were very high quality. Great guys to work with too!

Re: Belltech drop spindle quality

All the Belltech spindles I have used had their name cast on them.
I wonder if someone returned these in a Belltech box?

Info from Bell Techs 'customer support' service line can be accurate or incorrect. Talk w/more than one rep before taking what they say as correct. Any Belltech spindle I've ever possessed had their name & a casting number.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

I'd go through summit. Tell them you'd like to swap them out. They are usually pretty good.

Smile Re: Belltech drop spindle quality

Well, I was able to get them replaced.

When I first got these I was suspicious of the quality but had no proof there was anything better out there. I could not find any pics of what they 'could' look like.
A big thanks to Whamo for putting pics of his 'good' spindles in his thread. That gave me the ammo I needed to pursue things. I was out of the return window with summit, But I contacted BellTech again with my concerns and after some back and forth, they agreed to replace them with some "cosmetically better" units. They assured me that the units I had were genuine BellTech, But that they wanted to make me happy.
So I returned them and have a new pair .

So..... The others did not have the 'Belltech' logo cast into them but the new ones do (and they're the same)?

Re: Belltech drop spindle quality

Those are totally different castings, regardless of the belltech stamp or not. No way in hell they are the same design.

The told me they have different foundries that cast them and thus they can look different batch to batch. But they assured me they were both Belltech.
