ball joint ?s please thanks

what is the difference in the upper and lower ball joints in the 67-72 trucks?
are the 3/4 ton joints bigger than the 1/2 ton?
also a 71-72 1/2 ton showes to be different than a 67-70 1/2 ton, is that right?

Re: ball joint ?s please thanks

i know top bolts in and the bottom presses in but what is the difference in a 67 or 68 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton? (top or bottom)
$20 for the 1/2 ton and $65 for the 3/4 ton ball joint.
also (top or bottom)a 71-72 1/2 ton showes to be different than a 67-70 1/2 ton, is that right?

Re: ball joint ?s please thanks

I am no expert here but I just came in the house from out in the shop working on this very question your asking, (all my trucks parts trucks are 2wd) I am working on my 71 C10 stepside and found the lower arms with heavy damage and have a 72 C20 longbed I went out to take the arms off to replace on the 71 and found the C20 holes for the ball joints were larger and would not work, I then went to my 68 C10 stepside and found the ball joints looked different, (shorter in length but same hole diameter) my problem solved with using the 68 arms in my 71....

So the C20 where clearly bigger diameter and the 68 was shorter balljoint but same diameter. All the uppers appear to be the same....

Hope that helps, as I just did this 10 minutes ago.......
