66 Heater Assembly how to restoration?

I was looking for any instructions on how to break down a heater assembly for a 66. Maybe I'm calling it the wrong thing, but the assembly manual doesnt have a breakdown of it either.
Does anyone ever replace the seals on the flaps in these or clean them out?

Do you have the deluxe or Thrift Aire type? I have the Thrift Aire and took it out of my Suburban, cleaned sanded and sprayed it gloss Rustoleum black. As far as seals, I believe CI or other parts places have them
Good luck

I assume its Thrift since all I have at the moment is a heater with a pull knob on the dash for controls. Replacing the seal inside seems impossible without maybe drilling out welds (if you can spot them) and open it up and reweld. Not sure its worth all that but thought I'd ask if others go to the trouble.

I didn't replace my seals as like you I don't want to damage the door inside etc.
