Inside Dome Light is Intermitten

I have a question.
My Dome light has a new bulb and works, but here as of late it wants to work when it wants to work. Right now it will not come on, but if you slam the door just right it comes on for just the momement. Close the door and come back to it and it is off again.

Do you think it may be the cut off door switch?

Let me know what you think?

I would look at both switches and see if they are free...could even be the passenger side bouncing a little. Do both switches turn the light on?

Re: Inside Dome Light is Intermitten

use your finger to check the switch itself..
spray a little carb cleaner into it move it around and make sure it's good and clean in there..
and worse comes to worse remove it and make sure the connectors are even attached still
if you have to "slam" your door just the right way.. if could be a decayed or loose connector back there..
good luck

Thanks fella's! I will try both switches and will try the carb cleaner. I know the light works, its just a matter of troubleshooting & isolating it. OH YEA, Love Canada, beautiful place.

I believe that switch grounds through the a pillar as well,so if it's corroded it may be losing it's ground.

Re: Inside Dome Light is Intermitten

Do you mean the small hole in the cab door area where the contact switch is or the fire wall area? (Piller)

Re: Inside Dome Light is Intermitten

I'm talking about the small hole in the door jamb where the contact switch is.
