Restoring Frame 69 C10 Short

I'm getting my frame sandblasted in the next couple weeks and I will be painting myself afterwards. What do yall recommend to get it ready for paint and once its ready is anybody partial to any kind of paint or primer. I definitely want to frame to look good and last.

Re: Restoring Frame 69 C10 Short

Does it go directly over the bare metal once its been sandblasted or should I spray a coat or 2 of primer on it?

Re: Restoring Frame 69 C10 Short

I cant speak of the TSC paints or the Blitz black, but I got Eastwood Extreme Chassis black and used Epoxy primer under it. I sandblasted to bare metal, epoxied, and then the Extreme Chassis Black.

Re: Restoring Frame 69 C10 Short

I used POR 15 and top coated it with Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black and am extremely happy with how it turned out. If i wasn't going to blast it i probably wouldn't have used the POR 15, but with a blasted surface the stuff is as tough as nails. I waited until the POR 15 was just slightly tacky and then top coated it that way i didn't have to use the POR 15 etch primer.
