Last Truck Standing. ...
at one point last year I had 4 insured and driveable vehicles. financial reality and life narrowed it down to just one 1 left. ,..3 Land Cruisers are gone but I still own a 67 CST. ......... A life is good moment.
I hope your day is good.

Re: Last Truck Standing. ...
As most of you know I moved from a acreage home out in Western Oregon to a Culd-de /sac in town here in Idaho.. I gave up a shop building and places to store stuff that was way more than any one should rightly have to keep all the stuff one doesn't really need., But then again maybe I did need it ...anyways that's one way to think of it, fast forward to now and guess what?
I have more vehicles than I have garages and so one gets picked to be out in the weather in the winter , For reasons that are above my control I will maybe need to down sell down to just 2 and that is my ??? whitch ones do I sell off,, Of course like you are doing by saving your 67 CST ,,I would like to save my 71 Cheyenne .. Life is good ,but not the same as always that one planned for it..

Re: Last Truck Standing. ...
I am glad I saved the CST too, now I am on winter beater lookout so can keep salt away from the pickup. It is fun to look at and for vehicles. life goes on even if a guy becomes legally single.(did I just say divorce in a round about way)

Re: Last Truck Standing. ...
Good day Kent. I haven't heard or seen you in a while. We gotta do something about that.
I'm thinning my herd also. Just last week I sold the 68. Stepside is for sale. Boat is for sale. My Accord is for sale. The Tahoe is slated to go away also. Then I plan to get an Escape for myself and maybe a small 14' aluminum boat. What are you doing to preserve your sanity (hobby wise)?

Re: Last Truck Standing. ...
I was run through the ringer too and still recovering financially. It was a little more than 10 years ago and that's when I started selling. I feel fortunate that vintage toys, bikes, trucks, and parts were my foolishness while I was married. At least I had something to sell. It has really helped. I went from 9 67-72s in my signature to the two keepers. And the shortbed is just a lot of parts I had. I sold the '72 SWB I had in '08 and figured to build the one to replace it from my parts. Still in mothballs waiting for funds...that don't have io go to something else.

Re: Last Truck Standing. ...
"Need and want" depends on one's opinion, at least in a free country.
I would love to have a lot more property, garage for 10+ vehicles, indoor gun range, pool....at least 30 women...you get the idea. LOL For now I make due with what I have and try to make the most of my limited space. If I had more garage space I would own at least another truck, probably a panel. |

Re: Last Truck Standing. ...
... Land cruiser is gone as of a about 2 months ago and I found another used Lexus. --- 3rd year 400 Ls model. it runs like it should. .... did simple math on Land cruiser, and it turned out to be about a 245$ a month lease for the almost 2 years I owned it.
. If/probably when I buy a Truck again it will probably be Dodge Diesel, lots of cool trucks running around these days. |

I have 7 vehicles insured at this time and 10 driveable. I do drive all of the ones I have insured but I too need to think about downsizing. Maybe next year.... LockDoc

Re: Last Truck Standing. ...
I thought it was Confucius. Over my head, too...
You do whatcha gotta do. I'd always had at least a couple vehicles since I was about 20. I got into these trucks to where I had quite a collection... drivers, parts, projects, undecided, and of course the nice ones. Things changed in my life and I had to come to terms with the changes. I was good with downsizing. I saw the sense in it and felt as good as I did bad about giving up on many dream trucks. But I do like a simple life and too many "things" can make life complicated. I also enjoy other things in life. When it comes down to it we need something to drive and we don't have to love it. But screw that! Everything I own has to have cool factor, to me at least. It's been about 5 years since I've been down to my daily Suburban, the '72 K2500 and the '67 SWB project. I'm starting to get the itch for something else to put in line behind the '72 and '67. The ones I sold were for future projects and I still need future projects beyond the two. I'll be moving to a place that can better accommodate my truck interests. I had too many here for the size of my property anyway
