Re: project: 3/4 ton dropped

my plans for tubbing the box. im going to cut out the first section to the dotted line, then cut out the next section to the solid line. then im gonna take the first section and slide it back into the place where the 2nd section was. should give me about 2 more inches of room. anything bigger i would have to move my leafs to the inside of my frame and i dont want to do that right now.

what is the width from mounting to mounting, of a cab chassis truck rearend, and mine(14 bolt) because if the cab chassis rearend is narrower, i'll just throw one of them under it, and fit a deeper dish rim. can i use a dually axle as a single?

Re: project: 3/4 ton dropped

havent updated this in awhile so here we go. i've since been saving for paint so not alot happened. purchased a 2in cowl hood, different tailgate with narrow gmc band, single peice rear window, and picked up a really nice front bumper. i got both sides of stake rack holes filled. Few new plans: not liking the idea of a rollpan anymore, so im gonna have to find a rear sport bumper to put back on my truck. all trim and emblems are going back on, exhaust will be after paint. i plan on putting a cab chassis rear end in so i can fit some good sized wheels/tires in the back. in about 2 weeks i will be stripping the truck down and sending it in to the body shop so they can finish off the body work and prep, prime and paint it. im thinking either greystone metallic, or blue and silver(dark or light)....any other color ideas? i want to keep the body lines showing so nothing too custom. the metalic grey chev is 78chevyrado's pickup.

haha i'll have to start asking you for everything lol. the only problem i came across is they wont fit in the front. the 12in wide are different from the 9. i want 10 in the back and 9in in the front. i was thinking the fuel mavricks but those are about $1600 for all my 10in/9in combo.

Re: project: 3/4 ton dropped

body is completely off the frame now. box and cab are going to get blasted this week, and i decided to pull the motor and clean/repaint it. then drop the body on it and start rebuilding the motor.
