Painting interior plastic & vinyl that was already done once?

I have a pair of door panels that are great shape except they were sprayed saddle over blue. Have a dash pad that needs to be recolored as well from old spray job.
Is it possible to respray them? Remove the old paint I assume.
Have a feeling it's a mess of a job.
I have no idea what they used to color them in first place if that makes a difference...
Thanks in advance!

Look at SEM products. They have the cleaners and paints you would need. I would not try to strip the old paint in fear of damaging the vinyl. Clean em and spray over them.

Forget what the existing paint is stuck to. It just doesn't matter... providing it's actually sticking. If it is, then scuff and paint...why take off paint that is sticking to the substrate??

If it is NOT sticking, then you have a problem.

Exactly!

SEM products are like Evercoat, if they made wedding cakes I would have bought one. I have never been disappointed by either of those companies. SEM, come on, I painted a white drivers bucket seat black years ago when I didn't know jack and drove using that seat for years and it never showed a sign of failure. They have cleaners and preppers too, you can't go wrong.
