Cool

Lucky, please post if you ever find out the GVW. I've got a '59 I'm working on. By the way, where'd you get that killer caricature? I'd love to have one in red!

The caricature is from a website, I modified the original picture, a bit, just to make it look more like my truck. If I remember the address I will post it for ya. And I will post the GVW, if I ever find it. hehe.

OEM listed GVW for 1/2T short is 4000 or 4300 depending on tire size, and the long bed is 4600

I'm not douting you Bill but that seems a bit high considering my 48 chevy (3800 series)1 ton panel only has a curb wieght of 4410 lbs and the 4100 & 4400(heavy duty)series trucks wiegh in at between 3560 to 5620 lbs. Now unless the use a LOT thicker metal in them which I dout because the stock frame under my 1ton burb was just about a 1/4inch thick and the body weighs 1112 lbs so the rest is frame & drive train at 3298 lbs. & that includes the tires, wheels & everything else on a rolling chassic .This info came from my restoration packet info......joe
