Everyone should run a scan.
I only use this email with other board members. So if I am in somones address book it may have come from your computer.

Some of these viruses don't even need an address from an address book. They can pull of email address from cached web pages you have visited.... pretty scarry stuff.

I guess it could have, but don't think it would be any different than having our email listed in our profile or the email button link. But I removed it. Also I have only used that email for a couple weeks. Beats me.

Yes. But if some nut goes to the trouble of sending a virus, you know they're gonna get addys anywhere they can.

Best for everyone to keep the Anti-Virus software updated, atleast once a week. And know that eventually you will get a virus someway or another. Cause the world is full of nuts.

71Chev, the virus (worm) would be on someones infected computer. When they would look at a page with you e mail on it, the worm would have taken that e mail address and used it to send the worm. The person whos computer that is doing this probably has no idea this is happening.

Yes I understand...

But till we can line up and shoot the paople that make a virus. We are left to defend our own computers.

So people, if you don't have anti-virus software. GET SOME! and be sure to update and run scans weekly!
