What a find...
so after painting the fenders in epoxy primer today I notice this... Not what I was looking for but I an glad to have found them now and not later. Guess its time to uncover the welder AGAIN
Both of them have stress cracks just forward of the mounting holes that hold them to the top of the Cab. |

Re: What a find...
It is funny how we miss things. I had a crack from the door lock pin to the edge of the door and found it after primer.
Good catch. Better now than later. Scott |

Re: What a find...
I just did the same thing last night. Looking over my drivers door that I was beginning to prep for primer and on the inside I saw a few "drips" of brass, no problem saw it years ago too and it looked solid. I ground it smooth and found that the metal was destroyed around it and of the holes wasn't filled with brass at all but just bondo. I did't want the extra work but damn glad I found it now and not later.
I removed all the funky metal and made patches to fill the holes to weld in tonight. Brian
