With the front floor solid it was time to rework the rust rear floor. New sheet metal.

Found a chevy tail gate in ok shape. Needs a little work but is fixable. It fits the body line nicely. Will be using the GMC tail gate band so it will cover the chevy.

That sure is a lot of welding and grinding. Your back must be killing you. How many days did it take to get the front and back finished up?

It is defiantly back breaking work to say the least as everyone knows. Been building classics for 14 years now and I am young at 31 but every week it seems to get more difficult to do this work. To do all the metal work it took about 7 weeks total over a 6 month period. With building customs for friends and selling classic car parts as a full time job it is hard to find the time to work on my own projects and i have way to many. Although I had 26 cars a few years ago and now down to 7 cars/trucks.

Got the front fenders and grille all fitted. After buying 5 top grille bars i still could not find a nice rust free or straight one so i ended up having the fix the best one of the 5. It took a lot of bending and pulling but it is now perfect.

All the sheet metal work is finaly done and the tub is off the frame and ready for final blasting.

All the front end chrome is ready and will be sent out to the chrome shop next week. This is going to put a dent in the pocket book.

Got the tub on the rotisserie today. Would like to start blasting but it is just too hot today to suit up and start that. Maybe by the weekend.

Who is your chromer? I've used a few... Some great some completely not. Price sure varies, huh?

What media do you use for blasting? I was thinking of having my tub soda blasted so metal won't warp.

I Use big D's chrome plating in LA area. The guy use to manage the bumper shop but then opened his own shop. I have never had any problems. Been having him do my plating for the last 8 years. Does great work every time.

I use different media for different areas. sand,glass, and plastic. I dont like the blasting but after 2 shops completey warped a few car bodys.

I didnt trust any more shops so i bought a blaster and started doing it myself. Have never warped one yet!

Got the complete tub blasted over the weekend. Took several days to do because of the weather but it is done and ready for some epoxy.
