Any pic's of 295/50/15 on a 8.5 wheel???

Thinking of running a 295/50/15 on a 8.5 wheel in the rear of my 66', just wondering of any clearance/rubbing issues I might have, and yes the truck will be lowered.... a lot!
Thanks in advance!

I wont say you can't, but it will be a ***** for sure. I ran a 255/70/15 on a 15x8 wheel with an adjustable tract bar and 5" rear drop spring. I had to undo the bar and use a ratchet strap to pull the rear end in each direction to get the wheels on. I think maybe a 3-4" drop spring with a lowering block may allow more room to put the wheels on.

I have 275/60/15s on my truck and the 295/50 is not even an inch wider. I don't see any problems and mine are mounted on 8" wheels. Here is the Tire Calculator on Americas tire. http://www.americastire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.do

I have 275/60/15s on a 10 inch wheels in the back and they are pretty close to rubbing but haven't had a problem yet. I would think as long as you roll your fenders you will be fine. If they do rub it shouldn't be by much

A 295/50-15 is only 26.6" tall. That's a really short tire for a rear, in my opinion. It will look tiny in the wheel opening, even if the truck is lowered. If you're going for a hot rod look, take a look at a 275/60-15 (28" tall) or a 255/70-15 (29" tall). Those two tires are a lot cheaper than a 295, also.

The 275/60 15 on 8" fill my wheel wells up. I don't think anything else wider wheels or tires would fit.

I had 295 50 15s on this truck but on 10 inch rims. Had to widen the tub. Offset kept it off the wheel lip.

Re: Any pic's of 295/50/15 on a 8.5 wheel???

Thanks for all the input guys, I have the 6 lug 8.5 new wheels ready go and I have nice 245/60 and 295/50 tires mounted on different size wheels, I was just wondering if I'd be wasting my time/money try to remount the tires on the new wheels if its not going to work.
