Door bracing

I braced the door opening a bit differnt than ways i have seen on here previously. One nice thing is the door can still be mounted and closed for final adjustement.
The mount under the dash and around to the front is mostly the different part, plate was plasma cut out of 1/4" plate steel and bolts in the factory dash mount locations. This way no weding to the dash..The brace by the floor is just L2x1 1/2x1/8 angle mounted with the factory bolts. The adjuster part works a lot better than what i thought and is actually quite rigid.

Figured i would post some pics.

Re: Door bracing

Thanks. I might add another brace to the top of the windshield too, but we'll see.

Re: Door bracing

Perfect! That s/b the standard for floorboard bracing. You could use the forward seat mount to the hardtop mount for your second bracing mount, or the reat seat mount

Thanks for giving us ideas

Re: Door bracing

Thanks, and good idea on he top windshield mount.
I do have a drawing with dimensions for the plate under the dash and the angle at the floor if anyone wants it. I actually have a dxf file for the plate if someone wanted to get it plasma or laser cut also. PM me and i can email i to you.

Sharing ideas is what makes this site awesome.
