235 wont idle ?

Hi everybody i have a 1960 chev impala with a 235 with a rochester bc carburetor and it wont idle unless i pump the gas pedal. I adjusted the float but it didn't make a difference. any help on this would be great thank you

Umm...adjust the idle screw?

Idle circuit liklely blocked. You probably have to take the carb apart and clean it.

X2 with the idle screw....if it's to far In you will not have enough gas passing through the idle circuit creating to lean a mixture. Try bringing it out 1 full turn.

First try to adjust idle then check timing and also check for any vacuum leaks. Carb has a gasket below the bowl that tends to become loose and lets air in. They're very easy to rebuild if you want to take a stab at it.
