new plates

applied for these months ago - can't believe they were available.

many years ago you could get the 2 digit year at the front but that has changed.

will bolt them on soon.

Re: new plates

you can try for other combinations - they give you 3 choices.

you may try BLAZ 71 or BLSR 71 or whatever you can think of -- and if you get it it was only $30.00.

where are you located?

I'm on Cape Cod.

Re: new plates

I bought my Blazer on Ebay as a pure impulse purchase. Was a muscle car fan in the seventies and was looking for a Mustang.

But here on Cape Cod we can get a beach permit and you need 4WD. Looked at a Wrangler for a about 2 seconds, a Bronco for 1 second and then hit the Buy It Now for the Blazer. Need the room behind the rear seat for chairs, cooler, fire wood, etc.

Frame, paint and interior were all done in Oregon. My plans include swapping out the SM465 for an automatic, the tired 350 for a 383 and take a bit of the lift out for my wife to get in and out more easily.

I have 2 little kids so when we take it out on the beach they go crazy for it.

BTW - we have a huge car show here every Father's Day in Hyannis - 400-500 cars of all ages on Main Street.

Anyone in RI, CT, MA ought to think about coming - we get over 50,000 visitors there on that Sunday.

What have you to do to your truck to get it where you want it? If you're looking for a big lift I may have springs for you

Re: new plates

Cool mines a 4 speed as well. I asked in an earlier forum how rare a 4 speed is. On response is that there where only 17% of light trucks where. Might want to rethink it if you like original. Mine came from Arizona . I redid the interior in black and whit hounds tooth, put 8" wide steelies on with hubcaps. new 33's BF Goodrich. I already bought a 4" soft ride hopefully going in this spring. I have some parts if u are needing anything.

Re: new plates

I like the standard tranny but my wife simply won't drive the Blazer as is.

I did forget one thing - I sold my hardtop so within the next 5-6 weeks I am ordering one of the soft tops.

Did take my son out this Winter on a few 50 degree days and bundled him up like a new born - it was pretty cool but I need a soft top.

Do you have pics of your interior - it sounds pretty cool.

Let me know if you ever come to the Cape.

Re: new plates

here is my cell text me and I will send pics. 508 958-1372 I use to run the beaches down the cape back in the 80s with a CJ5. Still have that as well. Was thinking of doing the same thing with the top. Did u have any issues with the doors opening and closing after u removed the top?

Re: new plates

great, I'll text you my number this week.

on a laughable note - I was looking for a CJ-5 or 7 with a 6 foot plow cause I'm just damn sick of shoveling snow! funny, huh? been a slow snow season here so far though.

yes, the drivers door got tight after the top came off and I drove around a bit --I think around the top of it near the latch. the rest of the lines of the doors, front panels and hood appear to be unmoved. I do have the 4 point roll bar so am hoping nothing else moves but will consider other bracing if needed in the future.

don't think I'll go back to a hardtop because I'm garaged from December to April except for the occasional 50 degree day.
