Re: 72 GMC Crew cab build

Very cool project! I remember seeing the CL ad and the price scared me. I wish there were more floating around. It'd save a guy a lot of work for sure.

Re: 72 GMC Crew cab build

I'm glad to see you back on it! I really prefer this coach built style compared to the 2 cabs butted together.

Re: 72 GMC Crew cab build

Have ya thought about bracing the cab with some square stock to keep it all in place while cutting out the material? That's a whole lotta space between the front and back of the cab.

Re: 72 GMC Crew cab build

Well I first seen it 20 years ago when I started dating a girl in high school. I tried all thru school to buy it. After dating for ten years we married. I have tried about every year to buy it and this weekend I got the call to just come get it. It has set for four years under a bunch of trees so it is starting to show its age. My father in law bought it in 84. It has had some body work done not the best but doesn’t look to bad.

I got it running tonight still have to clean the fuel tank out and put it back in. Then going to just drive it for a while. The top needs a lot of work so I may try and fix it or just find a nothing one.
