Question Dash Pad

I have a 73 Chevy crew cab I have been working on for a while. I have replaced the 73 front clip with an 84. I have installed the silverado interior package from an 87 Suburban.
I am wanting to install an 87 dash pad. I have noticed some slight differences where it clips on. Before I crack the dash pad trying to install it...Has anyone done this and ran into problems? And what did you do to over come this

Let me get this straight. You want to put a 87 dash pad on a 73 dash. I don't think it will fit. The dash inner structure is alot different in shape. 73 is rounder and the 87 is flat on top and I believe extends farther towards the passenger area.

Nope, won't fit.

73-80 same, 81-87 are the same.

Actually 73-76? are the same 77-80 are the same. The difference is (hold your hat) the later ones have a window in them for the VIN on the dash. So you would have to cut a window in the older to fit the newer. 81-87 P/U and 88-92 Blazer and suburban are all the same.

I believe if you want to get real picky it is 73-78, 79-80, 81-87.

Cool

Yes you can I did it to a '78..... you will need to bend the metal on the passanger side down some and remove a couple of the clips... It worked great.... The screws all worked it fine.... Just take your time and it is not that hard...... I did mine with the windshield in......
