ordering a BRAND NEW truck??

my dad has been looking at the new chebby, and hasnt decided yet on reg cab short box, 4dr shrt bx, or ex cab shrtbx...

lately hes been talking about a reg cab short box 4x4 5.3 flex fuel w/ AFM in dark blue metallic.

Ok, now for my questions... he was askin me if there is anyway he can order it w/ a 6.0 or if there are any secret or specail order codes like previous vehicles from the general have had ( option 1LE on camaros) (ZL1) etc.

if there are secret or specail order codes, how can he find them?

any help would be great!!! were going tomorrow to talk to my buddy at the local chevy dealer, we'll see what he has to say about it.

Re: ordering a BRAND NEW truck??

I don't think so, I know its different in some states. I think you have to get at least an extended cab to get the all aluminum 5.3 or a 6.0. I could be wrong, but this is the way it is in TN.

Re: ordering a BRAND NEW truck??

It always baffled me why GM won't let you have a 6.0 in a RCSB. Of course it will be a hotrod unloaded, but it will also pull like hell when loaded.

GM will have to do something though. Toyota will let you have the 381HP 5.7 in the new Tundra, Regular Cab Shortbed. It can be a complete base model work truck, and you can still get the 5.7 with a 6 speed auto. There's going to be a lot of humiliated GM customers if they dont start putting the 6.0 and 6.2 in the RCSB trucks.
