Fuel tank valve

I have this valve to switch between two fuel tanks. I have no idea which tank is which. Any of you have a switch like this and can tell me which direction is for the fuel tank "under" the truck?
The direction its in now, is using the reserve tank inside the cab. Its a small 7-10 gal tank.
Or maybe its not even working.

Re: Fuel tank valve

Dood, I think you answered your own question. I have a 72 Suburban that has an aux, tank. The switch is well marked but in my airplane, a prior owner used a paint stick marker and wrote Left, Right, Both. I suggest you only use reserve for just that, flip it toward main (underbody) and do not use aux. (reserve) unless the gas is getting old. That thing you have is cool.

Re: Fuel tank valve

Best thing to do is get under it and trace the fuel lines.
