Steering Column Help
Just recently purchased a 72 C20 for a father son project. The truck is manual steering so the first plan other than relocating the gas tank is put power steering on the truck for my son. I have seen a few people say you have to change the steering column. So my question is is that fact or fiction and seeing how the truck is a C20 do I need to use all stuff from a later model 3/4 ton as far as the gear box and pitman arm are concerned? Thank you

You just need to change the box.

I bought my '71 C10 on December 31, 1986. It had a 250 inline six and a three-on-the-tree. Manual brakes, manual steering. A couple of years or so after I bought it I had to replace the steering box so I had my mechanic convert it to power steering. It was a simple switch for him, although he did have to notch-out the inner fender to get the a line to fit. You shouldn't have much of a problem with this.
