Barn door inside latch

looking at the parts manual for the rear barn doors, I notice that they do not show an interior opening lever and have never seen one in pictures. my 64 panel rear doors had an opening lever about 1/4 of the way up on the opening edge of the door. It is factory. I will get a picture next time up to my storage unit. Aerotruck, do you see one in your books

Re: Barn door inside latch

MusicMan70, can you show the top part of the door in the Manual picture with the Upper-Rod & Lock assembly at the top of the door? I'm missing mine on my 1966 GMC Panel and trying to figure out where to get those parts.

Thanks

Re: Barn door inside latch

Old post but I was able to open the doors, from the inside, whether the door was locked or unlocked. I always thought it had to be unlocked from the outside.

Re: Barn door inside latch

anyone know if this was an option for the 67-72 Suburban barn doors?

If not, I'd sure love to figure out a way to open (maybe even lock) the barn doors from the inside. I know I could remove the decorative panel and manually move the pawl to unlock, and open the door, but wondering if anyone has done something a bit more elegant.

Thanks!
