A/C blower motor not working on 1 or 5

Have a 2003 Chevrolet 1500HD . The a/c fan doesn't work on 1 or on 5. Any ideas?

Under the dash below the glovebox is a PWM blower resistor module-thats usually the culprit. I just replaced the one on my '05 Denali after the air would sometimes not turn off or would come on only low, etc. ....all sorts of weird issues.

Call the dealer, give them your VIN, get the GM #, then source it on gmpartsdirect.com and its a lot cheaper online. I think I paid $60 for mine and be sure to use the new pigtail that comes with the new module.

The PWM resistor is used on trucks with automatic climate control.

OP, It will depend if you have standard dual zone controls, or the automatic climate control. The parts are not the same. But most likely, the resistor is burnt up and the pigtail is burnt up.

There was a recall/warranty extension for this. 10 years or 150,000. But your truck is now 12 years old.

Yeah I had a similar problem with my 03 1500HD and it was the resistor under the glove box. The new ones have a different and better design, if I remember correctly there is another wire, but the directions that came with it told you how to re wire it. I got mine from rock auto for cheap compared to the local shops or the dealership.
