Highest MSRP for a 72 K20

Had some time and added up a K20 loaded with every possible factory option. Came up with a MSRP of $6,385- doesn't include dealer installed options such as: shoulder belts, tape player, etc. Does anyone have a list/price sheet for dealer options in 72? Would be interesting to see how expensive a 72 truck could be. A possible example of a "loaded K20 window sticker" http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=685569 (tires are confusing on this truck- all the other prices look correct). Thanks for any input!

Re: Highest MSRP for a 72 K20

I got $6248.75 on my K20 suburban. Sure it wasnt a ranch rig with Frost White exterior and Parchment interior. With the 3 seats and front and rear A/C it seems like more of a top of the line shuttle or tow rig. I think with some more options it would make $7K. If adding the following options (which I would have ordered on top of what it came with) manual hubs, HD ft and rear springs, tach, roof marker lights, two tone paint, upper and lower moldings, aux battery, hand throttle, tow hooks, no spin, 9.50 tires, and 4.57 gears (not adding dealer add on grill guard.) its an additional $802.80 making the grand total $7051.55 .

I think a GMC suburban could make $7K easy.

Here are the price sheets.

How does the tire price break down. I figured 4 tires for $39.84 and a spare for $79.91

Re: Highest MSRP for a 72 K20

Good post..

Here is what one site says:

http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/

Inflation Calculator

If in 1972 (enter year)
I purchased an item for $ 7,000
then in (enter year) 2017
that same item would cost: $ 41,333.
Cumulative rate of inflation: 490.5%

*Learn how this calculator works. This US Inflation Calculator uses the latest US government CPI data published on October 13, 2017 to adjust for inflation and calculate the cumulative inflation rate through September 2017. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) and inflation for October 2017 is scheduled for release by the United States government on November 15, 2017. (See a chart of recent inflation rates.)

So you might say that $41K would be the pure value if te truck was still in the same condition as 1972 - so of course probably need to discount it a bit..

But then they aren't making them any more so..

Wasn't really thinking about a burb, but a loaded K20 burb would have been more than a loaded pickup. Yours has some nice options, have you seen one with more?

Re: Highest MSRP for a 72 K20

Ive seen a few loaded GMCs which is why I figured they would make the $7K much easier. One had buckets, both had carpet, multi tone paint, HD springs, Dana 60 with posi, 3 seats, A/C, moldings, radios, etc. One had some dealer add ons like a roof rack extra gas tank and tow hitch.

I think a regular K20 GMC pickup would also be more than a Chevrolet.
