SAS question

OK guys, here's my headscratcher. Thinking on some upgrades on a 93 x cab K2500 that we have. Truck has over 260,000 on it and its a diesel. What is the least amount of lift that I can "get away" with. Truck was and will continue to be a hauler. Both in bed and towing. So I'm not looking to have it up in the air. Plans are to try to keep 245's to 285's on it.
