bosh is fine anything but fram, i run mostly puraltor filters in my shop, but wix, bosh purator, mobil 1, k and n filters are great

It helps if you get the bracket that the air box mounts to. You can fab some brackets to hold it to the inner fender, then the air box just kind of snaps in place. At least that's the way I do it.

That's nice work nova 71. I didn't get that elaborate with my install but it was clean and simple also work well for me I'll try to get pictures of the pieces that i made tomorrow to mount the box tomorrow.

Well, it's in. Running and driving. Now I just have to deal with exhaust. Unfortunately the motor didn't come with flanges. So now I'm trying to find some.

That's awesome funny thing I mounted my computer in the same spot. Sorry just remembered I was going to post pictures of my air box mounting but forgot looks like you got it handled.

Actually I haven't mounted it yet. I got the stock mounting plate and its on the box but haven't mounted it yet. I'd love to see your mount though.

Also what did you use for the junction box there on the drivers fender. What is it, I'm guessing its some sort of fused box how many amps it it and where did you get it.

On the fender I used 80 amp circuit breaker, I like it better then the maxi fuses. My positive cable that comes off the battery goes into the breaker. Out of the breaker hot wire for the current performance fuse box and also the main red wire that feeds truck fuse box. It protects the whole entire truck. Also could be used for security just by pressing the disconnect button will kill the whole truck. I used 80 cause I run dual camaro fans. My brand says stinger used by stereo shops. I've also seen these at Kragen oriley auto they carry larger and smaller amperage if your not running fans. I need to down load photos for my air box mounting then I'll post them for you. I can get a better picture of that breaker if you want to see the front.

That would be great.

The fans are run through the current harness. I'm only useing the junction box for the truck supply only. I just put a 30 amp fuse between the pos battery cable and the junction box.

Ok here we go I hope I can explain this wright. First thing I did was removed the large nub looking thing that's suppose to press into a grommet. When you do that it will leave a hole. You will use this hole to put a bolt through and drill a hole through the fender well. This hole will have a small foot on the bottom of the box. In the picture I made a wedge out of a piece of one inch rectangular steel. Without this wedge you will see a gap between the foot of the box and the curvature of the fender well. The wedge is flat against the bottom of the foot and cut with a chop saw approximately fifteen degrees to make up for the curvature. I also used a piece of industrial Velcro under the wedge to give it something to bite to and prevent a rattle.

In the next picture I went to lowes and purchase a piece of solid aluminum round rod. I think it was 3/8 or 7/16 . Make sure when you mount the box that it is close enough to the radiator support that when you look through the hole on the side mount of the box which faces the radiator support you can see a flat spot on the fender well where it bolts to the radiator support. The aluminum rod will act as a stand/leg. Drill and thread one end of the rod first and mount to the box with small hex bolt. You will want to just place the box on the fenderwell then take a measurement for the leg cut to length. You might have to take leg off several times to cut to proper length take your time as not to end up cutting to short and have to buy new one. Once leg is proper length drill and tap bottom of rod. Drill hole where it touches fender well and run small hex bolt from underside of fenderwell into rod. Now drill the big hole for where that steel wedge and leg mounts. Oh yeah don't mind that water bottle over flow taped to the leg in the picture that's temporary.

Next photo show the bolt that is ran through the box/fender well. I used a bushing that was large enough to accomodate the bolt and ground to angle of fender well. When completed the box will have a little flex but works well. No welding. This is pretty strait forward once you start not as hard as it sounds. Just my idea

What motor mounts did you use? And what manifolds did u end up usidg?? And how bout oil pan? No clearance issues?

If you go back and read the build threads I posted it all should be in there I think. If not I used dirty dingo mounts for 73-87 p-up. The perches and clam shell motor mounts are from a junk yard 85 SB Chevy p-up
