not exactly stock but close. 57-66 283 that runs good. still has torque tube rear. and truck 4 speed. I need to update pictures I rubbed the paint with 0000 steel wool to remove chalk without ruining the patina. long term plan is MII suspension 5 speed and s10 4x4 rear. short term replace original gas tank in cab, dual cyl master cyl and new wiring harness, with electric wipers. I like the stock looking 283

Re: 47-59 Original and Close to Stock Pics

‘50 3600 I picked up a few years back. I feel very lucky to be the next caretaker of this one. Amazingly original unaltered truck. Has never even had additional lights or turn signals added. Matching numbers everything. Only modifications: ‘47 under Bed fuel tank to make it a dual tank system, Bed hooks under the rails, 40s car hood ornament, and a big old funky horn under the hood - all added by the original owner. One repaint by the original owner back in the early 70s. While the truck is drivable now, it’s still needs quite a bit of work to be a true turnkey driver. I did just enough to bring it back from the dead and drive around the dirt roads close to home. Might even do a little project post on this truck in the future.

58 Chevy Apache 38. Great truck as long as you're not in any hurry and don't mind taking up two parking spaces.
All original. It was originally a highway department truck for Tehama County, Ca. It then spent the next fifty years on a ranch in Ono, Ca.

First off Curbfeeler29 the Blue Mule Rocks!!
Really love that pale blue color on your truck.

All the trucks look great even if they don't shine,
Those trucks shine when they need too!

The 56 Cameo hell whats not to love about them!

So great seeing all these survivors!!!!!

Re: 47-59 Original and Close to Stock Pics

I bought her in 1980 when I got out of the Navy in SoCal. I put well over 100,000 miles on it. It was my construction work truck for 9 years in SoCal and made the trip from SoCal to Indiana and back 5 times loaded down with tools and 2 desert racing bikes in tow. I put a 12 bolt ($50 then) and a 4 bbl and headers from "Clifford Research" The 235 won't give up. I drove it up to the shop where she's getting a frame off drag and drive build with a 6-71/nitrous 292 and a six speed. Sorry but real patina has to go. I'm a shiny guy.

Re: 47-59 Original and Close to Stock Pics

Following Mick's lead, I share a couple "before" pictures of my truck in original condition. As the tape in the second photo shows, it didn't stay stock for long.
