Rear Trans Cross member - 700R4
Earlier this morning I sent the follow email to BowTiw Overdriers trying to figure out what rear cross member I should or need to get.
"Ok I'm down to the last component I think I'll need to make the transmission switch - the rear cross member. In reading your webpage information for the custom cross members, I'm not sure the description as stated matches our 1960 series trucks? I have a high high transmission hump. I've attached a pictures of the factory frame drawing, trans hump, the E-brake cable set up and a paintd frame picture. The frame of a 1960 GMC or Chevy truck is a boxed X styled NOT a ladder style. The Ebrake cable pivot is mounted infront of driveshaft tunnel to the channels that from the X." In looking at the picture of the "low hump" cross member, they are having me disconnent and replace the factory E-Brake cable pivot witht eh one they have built into their cross member. (see picture). There setup is $203.00 and its solid, no ajustable. Who has a 700R4 behine their block and what cross member did you use? Any pointers would be great.

Re: Rear Trans Cross member - 700R4
The crossmember in your pic will not work in a '60-'62 frame.
