Flip kit for 69 C20

Just picked up a C20 and plan on lowering it.

I keep reading about the flip kit but don't see many options for a 69. I see a few comments that the 73+ kits will work but no pics.

Has anybody put a 73+ kit on a 69? I can't seem to figure out what the difference would be.

Re: Flip kit for 69 C20

DJM makes a kit for the 67-72. I have one on my C10. 3" axle tubes and 2 1/4" springs are on both C10 and C20 so should work.

If you have a Longhorn, they have 2 1/2" wide springs so the 73+ kit would be the way to go.

Re: Flip kit for 69 C20

I emailed DJM and they said no kit for the C20 anymore.

I do have the 2.25 springs though so maybe a C10 would work.

The only C20 kits I have found come with the C notch bracket. It will never have anything in the bed so I wanted to go without the notch for now.

The axle looks like 3" to me and it is the 10 bolt.

If you are comfortable welding and fab, you can make new mounts with 2.25” x 1/4” wall square tube and weld onto your housing. Flip it and reuse stock hardware.

Re: Flip kit for 69 C20

I'm on the fence about my welding. Not sure I would trust it on an axle but I may go that route if I can't fine a decent kit.

Re: Flip kit for 69 C20

Are people reusing the stock spring plate? I welded on some perches and started to mount the plate. Don't like how little contact it has with the spring though.

I'm guessing I need a flat piece of steel but can't seem to find one that fits.
