What bulb goes in the heater controls light socket?

My light bulb is missing from the heater controls. I unplugged the grey wire that leads to the socket only to find it empty.

Its different then the dash size.

Thanks!

Should be able to get one at any auto parts store or salvage yard. (out of an older vehicle) Manes truck parts would have it also. (8100 State Hwy WW, Odessa, MO 64076)

Thanks LockDoc. Ron Manes doesn't have any in stock. Mrs Manes said Ron would keep his eyes pealed for one on an old heater/ac control unit.

Wow! I know they have a lot of stuff on hand, or did the last time I was there. You also have Classic Parts in the Riverside area. (out by the Argosy Casino)

Re: What bulb goes in the heater controls light socket?

I found that BA9S style bulbs fit and work. They make LED ones too.
Trouble I'm having is my bulbs burn out after 20 min of installing them?

Should I be using something other than 12v? Is there a resistor somewhere? Not that I need the light, but it's there so I'd like to have it work.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Does the gray wire head to the fuse box and inserted in “cluster”. I have a gray wire that is cut and my light that goes to heater is cut at base.

There is a gray wire from the fuse box that is connected to the Pnl Lts fuse and it runs to the cluster plug to power the instrument lights. There should be another wire connected there with it that continues on to the heater panel for the heater indicator panel light.

Re: What bulb goes in the heater controls light socket?

resurrecting this post - I have 1445 bulbs (2) of them in my a/c - heater control. Initially I thought I had one burnt out, but upon really close inspection I could (barely) tell it was working! Yes, they are both really dim. The manual shows 1895 bulb, which I know are more watts/lumens and somewhat larger. Do they really throw that much more light to illuminate this control panel?

I'm surprised there are not any photos of dash panel in low light conditions to show the illumination of gauge panel, and of course this control panel.

Are people satisfied with their a/c - heater controller with apparently 1895s?

Perhaps a change to LEDs? thanks!

Re: What bulb goes in the heater controls light socket?

Here's mine. The camera makes it look a lot brighter than I think it is in real life, but you can see how bright the gauges are for comparison. I stuffed another bulb socket in the blank hole on the passenger side of the ac control panel, so I have two working for me. I think it helps a bit, but it's still pretty dim.

The AIR trucks take two bulbs. Heater only, takes one bulb.

I bought a box of 10 #1895 bulbs on Amazon for $6.56 - thought I'd share with local friends if they are in need too.

A lot of threads go somewhat sideways. My comment was to help you acquire the correct number of bulbs for your vehicle's options. Many comments are sometimes obvious to some and not to others. The job at hand has been made easier, many times over, by the board responses. May times attributed to sideways comments. I did miss the fact you stated you had 2 of them. My bad.
I can assure you the other poster and I meant no harm.

Could be the chances of the board providing meaningful advice just went down exponentially.
Cheers.
