Here is the info on the rack, it is the one Nate recommends for use with the dropmember.

The Dropmember is designed to be used with a 79-93 Mustang rack. We recommend investing in a quality steering gear, and will only sell and recommend this particular rack. This power unit is remanufactured by Unisteer (part#8010020) and comes in a silver powdercoat finish.

Re: My 66 C-10 LWB full PB "Blackout"

A little progress on the back, got the trailing arms in along with the panhard bar. Painted the Rear axle housing and everything is in for mock up. Should have the time to finish the front and rear this week get it back to a rolling chassis and weld in the rear bag mounts This thing is coming along quicker than i expected.

What are you guys running for gas tanks? I am leaning toward the blazer tank that delmo runs, or the tank from Performance online but mounted above the frame rails..??

Re: My 66 C-10 LWB full PB "Blackout"

Well everything has been smooth untill this week. I mushroomed the threads on the ball joint for the lower control arm. Had to take it off get a new ball joint and have the shop press it in. Then I went to install the front bags and pulled out the torque wrench to torque to 25lbs and it kept going and ripped the threads out

So to say the least i am ready for a vaca. I am off fishing boys so I will get this thing rolling when i get back. I am chasing the one that got away my 400lb halibut.

What ride height are you going with, measured from the bottom of the frame to the groundhog?

What are your plans for a gas tank?

Measured from bottom of frame to the ground. For gas tank i am still looking into a few. But the one from performance online might be the route for me with the easy install. But it is pricey to get for Fuel injected. I know delmo runs the blazer so i need to look into that to make sure it will work with my motor.

Any other ideas??

I loved that truck, wish i could have finished the the front. Great system, all air management was from Air Ride Technologies had a great system, fun daily driver.

Re: My 66 C-10 LWB full PB "Blackout"

Fellas, need help with your experience on the below. I need to order my gas tank and radiator/fans. Along with all the little things like air intake, tanny lines ect. for the motor/transmission.

I went with a LY5 5.3L Gen 4 motor + rebuilt 4l60e. The motor and tranny are from Spaulding automotive. They are one of the largest auto recyclers and sell these combos for a great price in my opinion. Motor comes with all accesories, harness, ECU, they crack the harlness do all the wiring, delete security features, Vats ect. for under 5K. After I started adding it all up and the component of Time. This made sense for me.

Motor has 27,000 original miles on it and the tranny is rebuilt by them. Also comes with a decent warranty and AFM "active fuel managment" also known as DOD. Gives the motor the ability to shut down 4 cylinders under light load to save gas..

So-- I am on the hunt for a EFI fuel tank so far my options are below

1) Boyd's (vendor) http://www.boydwelding.com/category/products/Chevrolet
2) Performance online http://www.performanceonline.com/196...TE-KITS-19691/
3) Porterbuilt
4) 87 blazer tank (others have run this but not sure waht would be needed to modify for this motor)

Also in need of a radiator and fans, found that some other ls swappers used this one.

Thanks--I'm not opposed to that. I am still just trying to stay slightly ahead of where i am at so i don't have to slow down.

I have never owned a car that wasn't painted black, that being said. I am honestly leaning towards a Flat dark grey vinyl wrap (they are cheaper than paint, if your sick of it you take it off). everything else on the truck powdercoated flat black to match wheels.
