Looking through these, his eyes grew as he realized Grandma had a prescription for birth control pills.

"Mrs. Smith, do you realize these are birth control pills?"*

"Yes, they help me sleep at night."

"Mrs. Smith, I assure you -there is absolutely nothing in these that could possibly help you sleep!"

"Every morning, I grind one up and mix it in the glass of orange juice that my 16-year-old granddaughter drinks. And believe me, it helps me sleep at night."

Bud be sure to always secure that X. A while back somebody here lost one like that on the highway. It ended upside down in the median. I think it was a borrowed unit too.

I pulled that trailer (or one like it) to El Dorado, KS to get a dump truck once. I was going to haul Blue back on the trailer. Dump Truck was misrepresented, so me and Blue took the long road home pulling an empty trailer.

By the way there are two new 11.00/22.5 truck tires and wheels under that trailer. I unloaded them, and backed the trailer over them in the motel parking lot.

Nope, they were still on the trailer when I took that picture.

That's using your head. Ain't nobody going to try to drag those out from under the trailer, if anyone even saw them.

I always X chain equipment.

A chain thrown straight across will the unit slide side to side.

It's a tough thing to get through peoples heads though.

There was a new crusher laying on it's side at the quarry south of town for a long time. The insurance companies were in a pissing contest.

Low Boy driver just threw a chain across the tracks. When he pulled into the quarry, the trailer leaned, and off went the crusher.

Speaking of lowboys Boog, I was at the salvage pool in Conway, and there was a new lowboy sitting there with a locomotive imprint in the side.

It seems the driver was routed through Walnut ridge, and the local cop didn't like the route, and demanded the low boy cross on 412 east. Of course he high centered on the rail road tracks. Last I heard they were still trying to sort that one out.

Oh man. A wrap around low boy now. No joy trying to hold the pd responsible for that one.
Years ago I drove for BTL. One of our guys was making a delivery out in the country when his landing gear got hung up on the tracks. He had a neighbor call the sheriffs office to let the RR know. They said no worry there are no trains close. WRONG! 45' dry box hung on the track and there WAS a train coming. Long story short, they moved a bunch of freight to the rear of the trailer enough to take some weight off the gear and he got it off the track in time. Don't trust the RR. They lose cars and sometimes whole trains apparently.

Is it a modular? I shouldn't laugh. Modulars started off being a notch above a double-wide. But in the '90s they started building full blown customs out of boxes arriving on trailers. The first ones (9) I worked on were in '95 in Potomac, MD, the very affluent area just up river from Washington,DC where multi-million homes are the norm.

We did a lift station between the Arkansas River bridge on hwy 109 and the railroad tracks at Clarksville, AR.

I had loaded this excavator and started off the hill toward those tracks.

I told by buddy to hang on because we may "lay frame" when we hit hose tracks.

I just let it rip and got up enough speed, I figured I could skate the lowboy across the tracks.

I don't think it touched, but I had the speed for it anyway.

nice rig other Larry. ..those drop neck trailers are nice but they'll get you in trouble quick....my buddy has been hung on several tracks with his...when it happens he just fires up the trailer pump and raises the trailer so he can get loose...by then usually every popo in town is there..after a few times of that if he knows hes going across town (rr in middle of town),,he just made some spacers that he sticks under the hitch brackets before he lets it back down..that gives him a few extra inches of clearance...(old truck drivers trick)...

It just dawned on me, Larry, all your trucks are usually red aren't they? I remember when you stopped by here you were on your way to OH for another red one.

The one we picked up when we came by your place has been on a job down in the Mississippi delta ever since we go it home.

Linda traded that Escalade for a new White Diamond colored Tahoe a while back Doug.

Variety is the spice of life Doug. Even if it is a variety of red trucks.

That old blue truck is just so dependable and nice to drive I never think about driving my late model.

The K10 I'm working on now is Ochre, so that should spice it up some.
