What did you get done this week 11/2/19 edition

I did a lot this week the 79 came back from paint and I put it all back together, all the outside chrome new rubber floor mat with dynamat and I tried my hand at reupholstering a seat.. which was a real pain in the butt. In addition the alternator took a walk so I had to replace that the battery and while I was there I did a water pump and a thermostat, and replaced the bracketry with fresh powdercoated ones
the 76 is currently in paint and if that wasn't enough I was in my home office with my buddy reupholstering the 79 seat when my neighbor came over. He was a big first gen monte carlo fan like I am and he sold his first fully restored 72 monte a couple of years back as I was building my 71 . He had a 70 that was going to be his dream car and a 68 Camaro. Well the monte got put on the back burner for a while and was sitting in the yard and hes invested about $60K into the Camaro.. then his wife found out .. well I was made an offer I couldn't refuse so I have another Monte carlo project , although im not sure what I really want to do here How about you all?

Bob, this I’m afraid is going to cause issues in the near future. I know you were having issues with getting the seat bottom cover on, but the foam really needs to be all the way up under the cover. Another way of saying this, the cover needs pulled all the way over the front edge of the foam. What’s going to happen, every time you sit on the seat, that area where it’s puckered is going to get crushed. In a matter of time, the vinyl is going to crack.
Other than that, you did a pretty good job. It really is a pain, it takes a lot of hand working of the cover to get them in place.

Took mine on its first long road trip since restoring it. 477 miles to Rockport to catch some reds. Still kind of noisy, but the truck performed flawlessly. It was a big confidence booster.

My timing light wasn't working correctly, so Innova sent me another one and we were back up. I timed the truck and it is running much better now than before. This week / weekend I need to adjust the fast idle cam as it is not even engaging. After that I will swap in the new PCV valve from ME Wagner.

I picked up the gas tank, fuel pump, and tank straps. Shouldn't be too much longer before the 81 has its 5.3.

Not really that much of an accomplishment, but jeez, refills are getting hard to find. Got these Trico’s on Amazon. The FLAPS asked “why not just get new wipers?”
