big brake power under 15" wheels
so im re-doing my c-10 to handle and stop better
im going with a 9" rear with Wilwood Forged Dynalite Caliper with a Vented Brake Rotor, 11.75" x GM .81" i am trying to get a wilwood (or any brand really) front caliper set up that would match or exceed the stopping power of the rear. the big thing is i NEED it to fit under 15" wheels i can make caliper brackets thats not the end of the world. i was thinking about these: Wilwood 120-9737 Billet Dynapro Caliper-1.75 In. Piston 1.25 In. Rotor see if i can use them on a stock style drilled rotor any input helps here... p.s. im going to order a new master to my calipers specs when i figure this all out. keeping it NO power brakes |

Re: big brake power under 15" wheels
Wilwood does make a set up to specifically fit in a 15" wheel. My question is why? If your after improved handling and stopping power why restrict yourself to the confines of a 15" wheel. If you step up to a 17" wheel you can go with a 13" rotor, larger caliper, and reduce your unsprung weight if you opt for a light weight wheel.

Re: big brake power under 15" wheels
my truck is not done in a style that i feel works with a 17" wheel. i like more tire. i am using Bassett steel chrome wheels in 15".
are you talking about the GM D52 Dual Piston Calipers from wilwood? i have 4 pistons in the rear i don't think that would be a good match. i might be wrong i see nascar cars using 6 piston calipers under 15" wheels all the time |

Re: big brake power under 15" wheels
I think in your specific scenario, being you want to stick with 15" wheels, you will have to make a custom bracket for the caliper. There is not a bolt on kit that will fit inside a 15" wheel.... other than just replacing the stock caliper with a D52.

Re: big brake power under 15" wheels
i think i would start by checking the people that supply high performance brakes for race cars that race in series that require 15" wheels like nascar/arca etc// i know of quite a few super performance cars that have gone that route on the road

You might want to take a look at Performance Online. They offer a kit with Wilwood calipers. http://www.performanceonline.com/196...r-6-Lug-19830/.

Re: big brake power under 15" wheels
i was watching one of those nascar shows and they were talking about the brakes. They are 100% custom and cost around 15 grand.
