Took a few days off.....

Back at it now. About ready to finish up the brake lines and got the tailgate back from paint after the white background was painted on. I'm impressed how sharp the lines turned out.

Test fit the radiator today. Upper rad brackets won't fit. Going to build an aluminum cover that will hold it in place. Other than that, fit great.

Got the pedals and vintage air & condenser in. No problems there.

The vintage air kit didn't come with kick panel vent plugs, so had to build them out of metal. They'll be covered up in the end anyways.

Finally got the bed back on the truck. Couple minor issues; my leaf drop shackles are rubbing the wood and I'll have to adjust and, I had my exhaust intstalled too high over the rear end. It going to be about 3/8" from my bed wood. Im not sure how hot the pipes will get back there, not sure how Im going to handle that just yet.

I also had to shim the front of the bed about 5/16" and shim the rear of the cab about 1/8" in order to get everything to plane out.

Wow...a lot of wiring goes into an LS motor install. I have professional help in putting this together, and I appreciate the patience it takes to make the electrical look clean (hidden).

Decided on the panel install under the center console. Should have the engine harness installed tomorrow and then to begin on the rest. Ordered the Highway 15 harness. Pretty sure that panel can be installed under dash. The area under the dash gets cramped with the Vintage air, ducts, air controller, radio, etc.

Custom radiator support/cover. Going to be powdercoated when the cold air intake tube is welded up and ready to go with it.

UPS came again today..

TMI Interior showed up way sooner than I expected. Actually about 1/2 the estimated lead time. The vendor was great to work with, and everything showed up as expected and in perfect condition. Well done, TMI.

It going to be a bit before it can start going in, the truck is still being wired. We will be test fitting the seat bracket to make sure the engine computer and fuse block are positioned properly under the center console.

That's all coming together great. I'm placing all my ls goodies under my TMI console as well along with my battery.

Make sure to plan out your circuits before you start on the Highway 15 install. I had a similar set up and used a Highway 22 as it had more circuits for the EFI, electric fans, fuel pump, etc. Either way, the highway series mounts nicely in the factory location. You will have to get a little creative on how to mount it and keep the firewall clean. Send me a PM if you want some pics.

Thats no joke. The ECM and the engine fuse block are both going under the center console and with the vintage air (and ductwork), stock radio, air controls, Dakota Digital gauge block and the (smallish) Hwy 14 fuse panel, theres no room to spare.

The ECM wiring will be controlling the duel electric fans and fuel, so thats a bit easier in my case.

Still in the process of cutting down the engine harness and routing all the wires for the engine/tranny combo. Still have to wire in the electronic reverse lockout for the T-56 so I dont end up in reverse going 85 mph.

I ordered the BIM controller for the Dakota Digital gauges (it plugs into the OBD on the engine harness) and pulls all the diagnostic data from the engine (fuel pressure, oil pressure, temp, O2 sensors, etc, etc, etc) so that should eliminate a lot of redundant wiring and simplify things a tad bit.

Forgot to mention something for everyone that is going TMI buckets in their trucks....

The center console is set up for a LOW hump floor pan. Its about 3" too close to the floor in the front. As it turns out, TMI has only just recently ran into this issue and is currently working on setting up the high hump molds. When I called to alert them to this issue, they were AWESOME. They sent me return authorizations and asked me to send it back and they would cut it down for me.

I dont have the interior installed yet (going to be 4-6 weeks) but I will already recommend them and their products.

Wow...It was a battle to install the wood with the tank installed and the fill neck connected. I ended up using riv-nuts and button heads in the row directly above the tank. Looks good though.
