Tail light harness (under dash) questions
The lights are all run and grounded, turned on the switch and front and front sidemarkers work perfect...rears no go...
..so...I look under the truck and trace the wires from back to front with no breaks/chafing/etc... all the way to the firewall... look under the dash and Doh...nothing's plugged into the connector. I don't have any more wiring for the truck (bought as a project) but I do have a couple boxes full of generic harnesses in my garage.... ...so I guess what I'm asking is what am I looking for? I know it will have the round four prong connector to the end, but what else is on that wiring harness? Everything else works inside and out....where does the other end plug other than to the fuse panel I would have to assume??? I never paid attention disconnecting my other project and got this one the way it is now..... any help is appreciated...I did search here and FAQ's Long story short....I need to know what plugs into the round four prong connector that is through the firewall (plugs under the dash above and to the right of the gas pedal)....and where the other end of that plugs into the fuse panel. Thanks.

Re: Tail light harness (under dash) questions
Wiring I'm looking for is what attaches to this set of wires that come in from the firewall (female end under the dash....)

Re: Tail light harness (under dash) questions
Yellow and dark green wires go to the turn signal connector at the base of the steering column.
Brown wire goes to the light switch. Light green wire goes to back up switch

Re: Tail light harness (under dash) questions
Thanks. I'll look through my harnesses to see if I can find one that looks correct. If not I will make it from scratch going off your list. Thanks again.

Re: Tail light harness (under dash) questions
Thankfully the harness was there the whole time....just tucked up and zip tied I assume until the PO had the rear lights and grounds installed....
here's a picture of it installed for future reference of others.....

Re: Tail light harness (under dash) questions
I had this happen to my truck . when I connected the middle wiring harness at the cab somehow I pushed one of the pins out of the connecter (dash side) so , check that all the pins are in the proper location. hope this helps, Pat
