Project: Here We Go 2.0

Since being forced to sell my old 63/65 hybrid I have been going nuts with no truck. Finally I got my current toy. My 63 3/4 ton. At last, I'm starting my build thread. Started out by removing the crappy carpet that the PO put in. Found out the seat wasn't bolted in and the low hump was cut all up to make room for the Muncie 4 speed. Also the gas tank is leaking fuel into the cab, the wiring harness is hacked beyond my level of knowledge, the radiator is gone, and the transmission is held in by 4 bolts on the bottom. Now on to more positive talk. Got the seat bolted in. Got the 350 roaring a few days ago. Sounds really mean with the straight pipes and glasspacks. Called the junkyard up and the full wiring harness is only gonna be 60 bucks. Next payday gonna pick up a new gas tank and radiator as well as some tranny bolts and a wiper switch. Got the go ahead from the misses to get it ready to be my daily driver so she can trade in both the vans to get herself a new truck. My wife is awesome.

and a pick of the rest of the trans tunnel

Re: Project: Here We Go 2.0

Swapped out the battery with one out of my van. Got the monster to roar back to life! and I got the park lights to work. Got a good look at the back bumper and I've never seen a setup like this one. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?

Re: Project: Here We Go 2.0

A great deal of progress has been made towards drivability. Got both headlights working after hours of un"fixing" the hack job the PO did. Fixed a few vacuum hose leaks and reattached the right header to the rest of the exhaust to get it running better. unbolted the pressure plate from the flywheel while still in the truck and got the clutch working again. For the time being I'm going to jb weld the gas tank seam. Then all that is left is picking up the radiator, a new battery, and getting tailights and turn signals and she will be good to go. I can't wait to drive it for the first time.

and the left headlight working again
