anybody make a non a/c tensioner bracket?
I found on the compnine site, factory non a/c setup but they did not have one listed, and I've got pics from the net surfing of what it looks like, but wondered if anyone knew a company that had them?
http://old.astrosafari.com/images/v8...goingin022.JPG http://www.justchevytrucks.com/truck...s/engines.html about halfway down the 2nd link. The tensioner bracket for my a/c truck is made onto the a/c bracket and gets removed, and that one bolts in place along with some other bars for support and a different tensioner, which I can buy local. Not sure on the bars/brackets where somebody would find them or maybe make them. So anyone know or ever seen a company have a non a/c tensioner bracket? My a/c is gone and I'd like to get rid of the a/c compressor and bracket all together. if I can find a company with one of them, or maybe a gm part number? Don't know if anybody has any info or not, if you do please post.

Re: anybody make a non a/c tensioner bracket?
I think what you're looking for is a bracket/system that allows you to remove the AC compressor. You use your old Serpentine belt and stock tensioner. I understand what you asked, but like I said...it's a device that lets you remove the compressor and replace it with another pulley/roller/whatever it is called.

Re: anybody make a non a/c tensioner bracket?
nope, you see the pics I posted? that's the same bracket I got, the big one, on mine the top left side has a big bracket that's got the a/c compressor mount and a flat for the tensioner pulley to mount to.
The one above allows me to remove that part, put on a tensioner that works the opposite way, but you gotta have the tensioner bracket, which is smal and held on with 3 bolts. Here's a comparison from compnine, http://www.compnine.com/index.php?u=...01&grouptype=B mines supposed to be exactly like the top one, but the smog pump is gone and no idler. That's how I made it, it was the same as the top pic when I got it, now it's exactly like the right pic. See the bracket it's showing as number 17, that's the a/c portion you can unbolt and the tensioner bolts to the side of it, it's all made together. It's seperate from the main bracket which is 15 and the same for a/c or non a/c and I have 15 now, and I have 17, but looking to unbolt 17, then... The pics I first posted show a small bracket that's held onto the big one with 3 bolts and tensioner sits right on top of it, that's what I need. you can see that bracket in this pic number 14 bottom pic. http://www.compnine.com/index.php?u=...01&grouptype=B I'm looking to make mine exactly like the second one down on the left side. The part number 15 is the exact same mian big bracket as the ac one same as I got, so you can unbolt the a/c portion, get the tensioner bracket for non a/c and convert it over. The a/c part it gone in those pics. I would need that small bracket a non a/c tensioner and a shorter belt.

Re: anybody make a non a/c tensioner bracket?
found some other pics...
I need number 100 and it's not listed but 100 is the small tensioner bracket I wonder if anyone makes or where to get one http://www.compnine.com/index.php?u=...00&grouptype=B on this one it shows the portion you remove it's part number 6 http://www.compnine.com/index.php?u=...09&grouptype=B you can see the main horseshow bracket is still on the motor and 6 comes off, then you add 100 the 100's tensioner and a short belt and done.

Re: anybody make a non a/c tensioner bracket?
I posted thiose in the links above, the belt diagrams. Only thing I'm doing is removing my ac compressor, tensioner and the bracket they bolt to, not the complete horseshoe one that holds the alt. and ps pump, but the left side that unbolts, hard to get pics with it all bolted together.
In that pic you can see the upper part where the a/c compressor would go, just over the smog pump, that part unbolts and the tensioner I have now bolts to that, so I have to get the other tensioner bracket and tensioner.

Re: anybody make a non a/c tensioner bracket?
local junk yard should have one. look at the s series trucks without ac they will have the same tensioner bracket that you nee and will be eaiser to find. i know my old 1991 s10 had no ac the only thing is that is has to come from a truck with a 4.3. the 2.8 brackets are different.

Re: anybody make a non a/c tensioner bracket?
well if I go s-series yea, but if I can find a fullsize of van with a 4.3 or 305/350 and it has to be from 87-89 with the steel bracket. I plan to do some calling around the local yards.
