A Few Spring Questions!

Hi everybody!

I am trying to figure out an odd ball spring issue I have. So my truck is an 85 GMC K2500 with the heavy duty chassis/8600 pound gvwr. I have been checking out the rear springs, and can't seem to find much info on them! My springs are 7/1 and 56 inches long. Closest thing I can find to them on line shows for a half ton, rated at 1950 pounds per spring, but also seems thinner than my pack which measures 3 3/4 thick. Is this right? Seems odd to put that spring on an HD 3/4 ton.

My next question is, would 1 ton springs raise my truck? I know it would simply by having a thicker pack, but would it also be raised due to the difference in spring hangers between a 3/4 and 1 ton?

Thanks for any help you can give!

Nick
