1963-1966 GMC Frame Schematic

I am looking for a 63-66 GMC frame schematic.
I have found several posts on the site with 60-62 frame schematics and 63-66 suburban schematics but no 63-66 GMC frame schematic.
The GMC has a leaf rear suspension and what I am doing is swapping a 71 GMC leaf frame into my 66. I need some critical dimensions to compare the frames so if anyone has a blueprint/schematic, how about hooking a brother up??

Here you go: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...92&postcount=8

Oops! That's not the right one.

I guess I could measure mine when I swap the rear end later this month.

I have a 65 swb gmc bare frame on spring suspension sitting in my yard, call me with the dimensions that you need and I will check them for you. Kieth 918-446-2245

No, your right, that is not the right one but thanks for the attempt.
In fact, the 63-66 frame schematic that 1bad62pro/street was nice enough to post in other threads is actually a generic, suburban focused, 4X4 plan with a small portion of truck related dimensions included. I do appreciate his willingness to share however but that one doesn't help either.

The dimensions I need are the location of the 2 core support brackets that the core support mounts to. With that information I can back track for the dimensions/location for the core support cross member and the nose of the frame horns. I cut the original frame horns off in the middle of the steering box/idler support bracket so I have a little bit more than a foot to work with.
Actually, I am thinking about shortening up the nose of the frame horns slightly so I can "pull in" the bumper so it sticks out less. It would have a "tighter" look IMO.
The last dimension I need is the depth from top of frame to the mounting face for the front cab mount brackets. I thought I noted that dimension but don't see it on my plans I am drawing.
My hope is to have a full set of plans by the end of this project that will show exactly how to convert a 67-72 frame to use under a 63-66 cab.

Actually, the first set posted are for a 4X4 suburban. The frame shape and cab mount brackets are wrong for 1/2 and 3/4 ton GMC trucks 63-66.
The second post had the right cab mount locations but it is a coil rear and no dimensions forward of the front wheel centerline.
Those are the critical dimensions, both side and top view, that I need.
I have several trucks now and 1 apart so I can get dimensions now.
I am generating a plan on auto-cad and it will include all dimensions for 1/2 and 3/4 ton GMC trucks and also short and long wheel base.
I am also generating a plan to convert a 67-72 frame to use under a 63-66 GM. Same goes for that plan, both long and short wheel base applications.

I use AutoCad.

Re: 1963-1966 GMC Frame Schematic

^ I wish I had the Cad file.
I found these drawings here in the forums.
The only Cad file I have is of the wiring for a 67-72. I started modding it for the 64-66 but got busy with other things.

Re: 1963-1966 GMC Frame Schematic

The frame drawings are from the 1963 Chevrolet Manual for companies who wanted to convert Chevrolet trucks from C10 on up. There's not alot of drawings in the manual for the smaller trucks compared to the larger.

I cannot see any of the pictures. Does anyone have a frame schematic for a 1966 GMC suburban 4x4?
