A little bit of progress on the blazer

I have been working on my 76 blazer with the help of my father in law. Check out the subframe for the floor that he hand fabed.

Re: A little bit of progress on the blazer

We've made it farther on the blazer, the pass. side now is complete and is at 240 with epoxy primer. More sanding is on the way before paint, but for now we have to focus on the drivers side.

Re: A little bit of progress on the blazer

Looks great. I have to replace the floor boards in mine soon too, at least the passenger, but I figure I will probably do the whole thing. Just hoping mine will hold out for one more winter.

Re: A little bit of progress on the blazer

Thanks guys, I really have to thank my father in law for a lot of hard work, he got laid off by DHL about 4 months ago after putting in 30 years with them. Since he hasn't had luck getting another job, he has been putting a lot of hours in. As for the paint, I am repainting it the original glenwood green and the top is staying black. The trim and the wood grain are going to disappear. The interior is also getting switched to black. I currently have the low back buckets and want to change them out to a high back bucket, any ideas on what would look good?

Re: A little bit of progress on the blazer

I like the lowbacks, but if you really want a tall bucket look at the later model Burbs. Those buckets will bolt to your brackets and should be abundant.

I hate to see you ditch the trim and woodgrain. It really sets that color off. Besides, the woodgrain sides are fairly rare...
